Winds of Change -- ACLU Benefit Concert

In 10 days, I'll be performing alongside four incredible musicians and friends in a benefit concert to support the American Civil Liberties Union. I'll perform Ravel's Piece en form de Habanera and the first movement of Saint-Saens' Sonate for bassoon and piano.

The ACLU has been at the forefront of protecting the rights granted in the US Constitution for nearly 100 years. Their most recent victory was in the Supreme Court, where the SCOTUS struck down a nationality law that treated fathers differently than mothers when transferring their US nationality to children born outside of the country.

The ACLU saw an uptake in donations the last weekend in January 2017 in the aftermath of the first executive order banning* entry to the United Sates from 7 predominantly Muslim countries. A number of cases involving discrimination, immigration, mass incarceration, and privacy continue to be filed by the civil rights attorneys of the ACLU on a daily basis, straining the ACLU financial resources.

For more information, and to find out how to join the ACLU, I encourage you to visit their national website and/or the New Jersey affiliate
